Fruits of my summer labor

For three months this summer I have been working on fiber art projects at the summer camps held by WaterWorks, the Tulsa Park Department art studios. The theme of the camps this summer was "Art in Architecture". For the younger children, I led them through making quilt blocks by fusing fabric shapes onto a muslin background. They made images of buildings and bridges in an amazing array of shapes and colors. The staff sewed the blocks into small quilts and I quilted them. The photo, which shows a few of the quilts from the 27 quilts made, was made just yesterday at the gallery opening.

It was a fun project but exhausting. I'm looking forward to using my free time for my own art projects.
