Working in Mexico
I have moved to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico for six months. On a house swap with a woman of my acquaintance, my friend Suzy Reeves and I are now living in an upstairs unit of a three unit compound. Detached from our living area and connected to it by an outside walkway along the parapet of the compound is a beautiful room (sala) that we have turned into a textile studio. Light and airy with a wonderful view of the growing town of San Miguel, the studio meets our needs quite nicely.
The ton of fabric I brought with me seems like a small amount now that it is unpacked and put into the Mexican Folk Art cupboard. Alas, we may have to buy more!
Living at the local pace of life, we siesta each day and eat our meals in serenity on the terrace. Each day we think we'll unpack the art supplies and each day we say "Manana"
Follow our adventures here at this blog as we create marvelous textile treasures - in Spanish.

Kate, It's so lovely to see your place there in Mexico....a light airy room work room and meals on the terrace sound like heaven to me. I've just now looked through all your picture/postings here ...because I'm on the library's wireless connection with my laptop. My work has been going really well ...but I'd rather be doing it there! love and best,
Kay
